I am a Project Management and Communications professional working in Deloitte Canada. I belong to an upper middle class, semi-nuclear family with a mix of traditional and liberal values. Grew up in India, moved to Canada to pursue higher studies; became a Canadian citizen in 2022.Single child, so very close to parents and extremely sensitive about parent-child relationship as a whole. My father is a retired Deputy Secretary from the Govt of Indian (Central Govt/worked in various ministries from Home Affairs to Social Justice and Empowerment) and mother is a home maker. Both my parents and as a whole my entire family is rooted in certain principles and values like honesty, integrity, compassion and kindness. Our ancestral origin is from East Bengal (Dhaka and Bikrampur) both from my fathers and mothers sides and we largely belong to a family of teachers, professors (Harvard and Rochester returned) and public sector bank managers.I am settled in Canada, so would prefer profiles from... more Bengalies settled in Canada, USA, Europe, Australia and New Zealand or people willing to relocate to Canada. Looking for someone who is a human first, is kind and willing to see the things from anothers perspective. I am progressive by nature but at the same time, I am also very traditional when it comes to weaving relations with honesty. Lies and deceptions turn me off. I believe in goodness of the heart and maintaining balance in a relationship where both partners are seen and treated as equals at all times. I am intrinsically shy and introverted and have a very small social circle but I am immensely devoted and dedicated to the few people and relations I have in my life. I follow a simple mantra in life - treating everyone with kindness, respect and honesty and expecting nothing less from my counterparts.Although a Probashi Bengali, I love (almost) all things Bengali. A rainy day with Rabindra Sangeet in the background or watching a good film snuggled up in bed is my idea of relaxation. Though not an outdoorsy person, I love to go ANYWHERE with my folks (who are not too many). I converse in English, Hindi and Bengali. Although my hand in Bengali is a little tight as I grew up in Delhi from the time I was just a few months old but I learnt to read and write Bengali due to my sheer love for my roots and identity.I am culturally inclined and have been trained in Indian Classical music and have won many inter-school singing competitions. However, I have been out of touch for a long time now and due to my introverted nature, I have become more of a bathroom singer and someone who sings for herself once in a while. I am a decent cook and a more enthusiastic foodie. I can cook a lot of traditional Bengali, Punjabi and some random dishes. I am also a film and music enthusiast and love watching and listening to movies and music of different tastes and forms. No points for guessing I am a Satyajit Ray and Freddie Mercury fan :)Although I belong to a Kulin Brahmin family, I am simply spiritual by nature and not exactly someone who is religiously inclined. I consider Humanity and goodness as the only religion and do not endorse practices that place more value on human-made shallow (sometimes illogical and highly regressive and oppressive) religious virtues than being kind to every living being. Thanks if you read all this and have reached the very end. Its imperative that you read my entire profile and understand me as a person before proceeding. Theres a reason I stayed away from marriage this long. In my experience, I found it extremely hard to find people with genuine good heart, a compassionate nature and a transparent, honest and accepting/progressive outlook towards life, society, women, seniors, children and the lesser privileged. Though utterly disappointed in my experiences, I still have some hope left and hence looking for someone who would reiterate the values and the overall attitude towards life that I tried to sum up so far.
